The LEUNA chemical site
We are located in the middle of the Leuna chemical site, which has been developed since 1916. After an eventful history, an almost completely new chemical industrial complex has been built here over the last 30 years on an area of 1,300 hectares. We use the services available here - such as our own site security, an officially recognized site fire department, telecommunications systems, energy and steam supply and the central biological waste water treatment plant. We are able to source many of our raw and auxiliary materials from companies that are also based at the chemical site. LCP Leuna Carboxylation Plant GmbH is located in a logistically excellent location to enable short delivery times for our customers. Our sustainability promise
Responsibility for our environment means treating nature and people with respect.
Our actions are characterized by an economic-ecological balance. We only consider new solutions to be truly future-oriented if they simultaneously reduce the use of raw materials, conserve resources and are environmentally friendly. LCP Leuna Carboxylation Plant GmbH is reducingCO2 emissions in the solids treatment plant and the precipitation plant with the help of the state of Saxony-Anhalt and the ERDF. This will be achieved by reducing the electrical energy requirement and the use of steam by 60 percent in relation to the original energy requirement of the aforementioned sub-plants. A total saving of 362 tons ofCO2 per year will be achieved. Another important measure is the conversion to energy-saving LED lighting.
LCP has tapped into a whole range of opportunities to operate in a more environmentally friendly way. These include a physico-chemical and biological wastewater treatment plant, which reduces the pollution of our rivers as a precautionary measure. In order to reduce the burden on our roads and minimize the associatedCO2 emissions, we handle a large proportion of our raw material deliveries via the rail network. We also reduce the amount of packaging we use as much as possible or do without packaging for our products as far as possible.
